The members of the 67th session of WHO Regional Committee for the Eastern Mediterranean elected Today, Monday, Egypt's Health Minister Dr. Hala Zayed, as the session Chair.
Dr. Zayed, thanked WHO Director Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus for his efforts against Covid-19.
On other hand, Dr. Zayed explained: "Our efforts will achieve the promising future, as the World Health Organization will continue to be the 1st and important pillar of countries, in addition, we will achieve the sustainable development for humanity."
Moreover, the current situation in the region is witnessing successive developments, especially regarding the refugees crisis and internal conflicts.
Noteworthy, Egypt’s President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi gave a speech Today, at the 67th session of the World Health Organisation Regional Committee for the Eastern Mediterranean. The session is set to discuss key health issues, as well as the coronavirus pandemic. The session hold virtually on 12–13 October due to the pandemic.
Health ministers and high-level representatives, from 22 countries of the Eastern Mediterranean region, participate virtually in the session to discuss health issues, WHO reported, adding that the session will also gather partner organisations and civil society groups..
