The number of the citizens in Egypt who received the first dose of the Coronavirus vaccine reached 44, 649,412, while, the number of the fully vaccinated persons surpassed 33, 820, 506, according tothe Spokesperson of the Ministry of Health Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar said in a statement released on Wednesday.
Abdel Ghaffar continued that 54.8% of the targeted category of the vaccination who are above 18 years old are fully vaccinated and 48% of people who are above 12 years old are also fully vaccinated.
The spokesperson previously expressed that the continued mutation of Coronavirus is a sign of the virus’ weakness.
Abdel Ghaffar added that the rates of Coronavirus infections and linked deaths are declining, alongside the rates of citizens’ hospital visits that drove by the virus or its symptoms.
He highlighted that the acting Minister of Health Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar reviewed all reports related to the updates of the pandemic in Egypt.
In the same context, the Ministry of Health urged all residents to not drop the booster COVID-19 vaccine doses for increasing the human immunity against the virus.
It is worthy to mention that the Egyptian Ministry of Health and Population announced Saturday that last week the average number of daily COVID-19 infections reached 124 cases, while the average daily death toll was six new cases.
The spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population, Hossam Abdel-Ghaffar, said in a statement that the average daily number of people recovering from coronavirus last week reached 260 – bringing the total number of people recovering from the virus so far to 444, 002.
The number of people fully vaccinated against the coronavirus is now up to 33,585,495 people.
