Head of Libyan Presidential Council in Sirte for 5 + 5 Joint Military Commission meeting

The Libyan Presidential Council announced today, Tuesday, that the head of the Council, Muhammad Al-Manfi, will fly to the city of Sirte to attend the fourth meeting of the 5 + 5 Joint Military Commission.

The official spokesperson for the Libyan Presidency Council, Najwa Wahiba said that the head of the Presidency Council, Dr. Muhammad Al-Manfi, is heading to Sirte to attend the meeting of the 5 + 5 Joint Military Commission.

The Joint Military Commission will discuss opening the coastal road and the process of evacuating foreign forces.

It will also address what had been agreed upon during previous meetings on the framework for enforcing the permanent ceasefire signed in Geneva on October 23, 2020.

The new Libyan national unity government, headed by Abd al-Hamid al-Dabaiba, and the new presidential council, headed by Muhammad al-Manfi, officially took power in Libya last month, to prepare for legislative and presidential elections.
