Renowned Egyptologist Zahi Hawass has revealed the reason behind the decline in the number of tourists visiting Egypt, despite the country’s unique tourist and archaeological attractions.

He explained that Egypt has not pinpointed the cause of the decrease in tourists, noting that the country does not need extensive advertising or significant spending, as everyone is already familiar with Egypt’s landmarks.

Dr. Hawass emphasized that the only image that requires promotion is that Egypt is safe, correcting misconceptions held by many who confuse Gaza with Giza.

The Egyptologist added that he is set to deliver 33 lectures in May, June, and July in the United States and Canada, with each lecture attracting no fewer than 2,000 attendees, including media representatives. He urged leveraging such events to benefit Egypt.

Dr. Hawass continued by stating that people abroad are fascinated by the Pyramids and the Sphinx and have numerous questions in his lectures.

Moreover, he dismissed recent rumors spread on social media by what he described as the “fifth column” regarding the alleged leasing of the Pyramids.

Dr. Hawass clarified that he has conveyed messages through a popular YouTuber, followed by tens of millions, confirming that the Pyramids were built by Egyptians, not extraterrestrials.
