Dr. Zahi Hawass, the well-known Egyptologist and former Minister of Antiquities, said that the Grand Egyptian Museum is one of the greatest museums in the world, noting that the peoples in the United States of America and Europe are wondering when it will open.

He added that he demands that three important artifacts be displayed in the Grand Museum: Nefertiti's head, the Rosetta Stone, and the planetarium.

He noted that these pieces are now displayed in European museums, adding that he participated in a debate at Oxford University to stress the importance of restoring all Egyptian antiquities, as the museums should stop “colonial practices.”
