Dr. Zahi Hawass, the well-known archaeologist, said the Cairo Book Fair sends a message to the world, showing Egypt's cultural power.
Hawass's remarks came on Monday on the occasion of selecting him as an ambassador for the book fair this year.
Culture Minister Enas Abdel Dayem chose the famous archaeologist to be the fair's ambassador due to his global reputation and being one of the world's most famous Egyptologists.
Hawass expressed his delight for naming him, saying the book fair is one of the greatest cultural events in the 21st century.
He also thanked the Culture Ministry for holding such a great event.
He affirmed that he would promote the fair while traveling abroad, noting that it is a matter of pride.
It is worth noting that the 51st edition of the fair would run from the 22nd of January until the 4th of February this year.
