Egyptologist Zahi Hawass said the Berlin Museum stole Nefertiti's bust from Egypt in 1913.

During his meeting with the journalist Hamdi Rizk, on the "Nazra" program, Hawass revealed that he had all the evidences which prove that Nefertiti's bust came out of the country illegally.

Moreover, Hawass noted that at that time, the law forbid moving royal artifacts, made of limestone, abroad. He added that a forgery was carried out by writing that Neferiti's bust was made of gypsum which is not true.

Ludwig Borchardt, discoverer of Nefertiti's bust, kept it inside his house for 10 years, and after its appearance at the time of World War II, Hitler initially agreed to return it to Egypt, but he fell in love with Nefertiti and reconsidered his decision.

The Egyptologist said he urged the Museum in 2015 to return the bust, the Rosetta Stone, in addition to a number of artifacts in order to put them in the Grand Egyptian Museum, but all of them refused his request.
