Veteran Egyptian actor Hassan Youssef will star as Pope Shenouda, the 117th Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of the See of St. Mark, in a new series.
Youssef expressed his honor in presenting Pope Shenouda in a television series. He noted that the series will attract Christians and Muslims around the world, especially since he was a lovable character.
During a telephone conversation with TV anchor Sayed Ali on the “Hadret el Mowaten” satellite TV channel, on Monday evening, Youssef explained that the idea was presented in 2003 after the success of the Sheikh Muhammad Metwally Al Shaarawy series, however, the talks stopped, then resumed once again.
