Hanoi has launched an ambitious long-term development strategy after the municipal Party Committee approved a comprehensive master plan with a 100-year vision, aiming to transform the capital into a globally recognized city.
According to Vietnam News Agency, a partner of TV BRICS, the plan was adopted during a high-level leadership conference and sets out a roadmap to position Hanoi among the world’s leading capitals in terms of quality of life, economic growth, and innovation.
The strategy outlines a phased transformation, with Hanoi targeting global city status beyond 2065. Authorities aim to significantly enhance social well-being, infrastructure, and overall economic performance.
By 2035, the city is expected to become a modern and livable urban center while preserving its cultural identity. It also seeks to strengthen its position as a regional hub for education, healthcare, and innovation across the Asia-Pacific.
Key economic goals include achieving an average annual gross regional domestic product growth rate of 11 percent and raising per capita GRDP to 12,000 US dollars by 2030.
The plan also emphasizes digital transformation, with the digital economy projected to contribute 40 percent of total output, reflecting Hanoi’s focus on innovation and future-oriented growth.
