A delegation from the Islamic Resistance Movement ( Hamas ), led by the head of the movement’s political bureau, Ismail Haniyeh, paves the way on Wednesday to the Egyptian capital, Cairo to discuss the issue of prisoners and files related to the Gaza Strip.
An official in the Palestinian movement indicated that Hamas is adhering to its position of rejecting a prisoner exchange before the Israeli war on Gaza is completely stopped.
Another source who holds a senior position in the movement told the Arab World News Agency that the visit, which has not been officially announced yet, aims to create new paths in negotiations based on Egyptian weight.
Another Palestinian leader said that Egypt is working to open a new track for the truce negotiations that differs in its foundations and implementation details from the previous track, and paves the way for the possibility of a breakthrough in the permanent ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
