Egypt's national team announced that Right-back Mohamed Hani will not travel to Togo after the injury he had sustained in Saturday's match against the African team in the third round of the African Cup of Nations qualifiers AFCON 2021.

The national team said in an official statement that Mohamed Hani will be outside the team’s list that will travel to Togo on a private plane, Sunday, for the fourth round match scheduled next Tuesday.

The statement added that Hani has an injury in the outer ligament of the knee, according to the results of the x-rays he underwent.

For his part, Mohamed Abol Ela, the team's doctor, said that Hani's injury is not serious, especially that it is still in its early stages.

He added in press statements that the coaching staff, led by Hossam El-Badri, preferred to give Hani a rest and not to risk his health.
