The Egyptian men's Olympic handball team claimed their third win in group-stage matches after defeating Sweden 27-22 on Friday to secure a place in the quarter-finals.
The Pharaohs are now second in Group B with six points, even on points with Denmark who are at the top of the group. The top four advance to the quarter-finals.
In the last game of the group phase, Egypt will take on Bahrain, with an eye on one of the first two places, while Sweden face reigning Olympic champions Denmark in a rematch of the final of the IHF Men’s World Championship 2021.
