Al-Ahly Bids Farewell to Handball Champion Nour Kamal

President of Al-Ahly SC Mahmoud El-Khatib along with a large number of officials were keen to attend the funeral of first women's handball team champion Nour Kamal Hafez.

Hassan Hamdy, Egypt's midfielder and 12th president of Al-Ahly, also attended the funeral of the titleholder.

Nour passed away on Thursday, during her sleep, at the age of 23 , just two weeks after claiming the Egyptian Super Cup with her club. Inspired by her mother Rawia Hamdy, the champion was completing her studies at the German University in Cairo (GUC) at the faculty of Applied Sciences and Arts.

Admired by everyone around her, the young lady was the daughter of the late member of the Egyptian Handball Association board of directors, Ahmed Kamal Hafez, and the granddaughter of the late director of Al-Ahly club. Nour wanted to continue her last term in the Berlin semester abroad program.
