Hamas said on Saturday that Israel had refused to accept the two hostages Nourit Yitshaq and Yokhefed Lifshitz - amid the rising conflict in Gaza.

Abu Ubaida, spokesman for Al-Qassam Brigades added that the it does not expect anything in return.

On Friday, the group released two American hostages, mother and daughter Judith Ranan and Natalie Ranan, who were received by Israeli authorities and will be repatriated to their homeland in Chicago, Illinois.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office said in a brief statement: "We will not point out the false propaganda carried out by Hamas."

“We will continue to work in every way to return all the kidnapped and missing persons to their homes.”

Commenting on the Al-Qassam Brigades’ announcement regarding the release of two detainees on Sunday after Tel Aviv refused to receive them on Friday, the Israeli government said that Hamas is continuing psychological warfare.
