Hamas has renewed its call for the immediate empowerment of the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza (the "Technocrats"), urging that it be allowed entry into the Gaza Strip to assume its full responsibilities and be provided with all necessary resources for its operation.
Hazem Qassem, the official spokesperson for Hamas, confirmed that the movement has taken all necessary steps on its part to hand over various sectors of governance and administration in the Strip to the National Committee.
The spokesperson expressed surprise at recent statements made by Nikolay Mladenov, representative of the Peace Council, who demanded that the current administration in Gaza step down before allowing the committee to enter.
Qassem clarified that "this effectively means plunging Gaza into a state of chaos and lawlessness—a situation the criminal occupation seeks to achieve and consolidate."
