Izzat al-Rishq, a member of the Hamas political bureau, said that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is evading reaching an agreement on the “prisoner exchange” deal and is procrastinating its conclusion.

Al-Rishq said: “The one delaying the deal now is the Israeli side, especially Netanyahu, who is evading its conclusion.”

He pointed out that the deal must include, in addition to the ceasefire, the provision of aid, including fuel, to the Gaza Strip.

Private sources explained to the "Palestine Today" channel that: "The Islamic Jihad and Hamas movements agreed in principle to the terms of the prisoner deal.

The Palestinian sources added: “The terms of the prisoner exchange deal include a five-day truce that includes a ceasefire, the overflight of Israeli warplanes, the entry of 300 trucks of food, medical and fuel aid into the Gaza Strip, and the release of 50 prisoners held by the resistance, including settlers and foreign nationals, in exchange for 300 prisoners of children and women.”

White House Strategic Communications Coordinator, John Kirby, announced that negotiators on the deal were closer to an agreement “than ever before.”

The Washington Post also reported, citing an Israeli official, that Israel and Hamas are close to achieving a deal to exchange detained women and children and declare a 5-day truce.

On the other hand, the Secretary-General of the "Islamic Jihad" movement in Palestine, Ziad Al-Nakhalah, confirmed earlier that the Israeli reactions and method of negotiating regarding the prisoners may push the movement to exit the deal and keep the prisoners for better conditions.
