The newspaper "Yedioth Ahronoth" said: "This morning (Friday) the Israeli army revealed that it had monitored a 'booby-trapped area' in Jabalia, where children's dolls, connected to loudspeakers, emit crying sounds to attract fighters in their direction - near the tunnel opening."
The Israeli army said in a statement published on its account on the “X” platform: “As part of the survey operations carried out by reserve soldiers in the 261st Brigade Combat Team of the 162nd Division, the forces uncovered an ambush that included an attempted fraudulent move by the Hamas organization to drag the forces into a nearby tunnel.”
According to the army, "the area included speakers mounted on dolls, in addition to children's bags that were located near the opening of a large tunnel leading to a network of tunnels."
