Palestinian sources told "Sky News Arabia" that a Hamas delegation, led by the movement's head in Gaza, Khalil al-Hayya, will arrive in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, on Sunday.
The visit aims to hold a round of consultations regarding the second phase of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza.
According to the sources, the delegation will also include Husam Badran (Zahir Jabarin), Basem Naim, and Ghazi Hamad.
The consultations with Egyptian officials are expected to focus on the "Gaza Management Committee," which is set to be composed of 15 non-factional Palestinian figures.
Neither Egypt nor Hamas has officially announced these meetings yet.
This development coincides with preparations by U.S. President Donald Trump to announce the launch of the second phase of his plan to end the war in the Gaza Strip and to reveal what is being called the "Peace Council."
In this context, reports indicate a U.S. trend toward announcing the "Gaza Peace Council" next week, alongside the formation of a technocratic committee to manage the Strip.
This move raises questions about the role of the Palestinian Authority in this process, especially given Israeli conditions requiring the Shin Bet's approval of any proposed names.
