A delegation from Hamas has traveled to Egypt to discuss a new proposal for a ceasefire, according to Sami Abu Zuhri, a senior official within the movement. This development comes amidst ongoing hostilities that have seen the Israeli offensive on Gaza enter its sixth month.
Abu Zuhri stated that while Hamas is committed to reaching an agreement, it will not succumb to American pressures. He emphasized the seriousness of their intent in discussions with Egypt and Qatar, who have been mediating these talks.
The Israeli aggression has persisted with aerial and naval bombardments targeting areas in the south and central Gaza Strip. Concurrently, armed clashes have intensified between various factions and Israeli forces, particularly around Khan Younis.
