Veteran hairstylist, Mohamed Al Sagheer died Friday after contracting the Coronavirus, his son-in-law, Egyptian actor, Ahmed El Sakka, announced the news via Instagram stories.
The late hairstylist's funeral prayer will take place after Friday prayers at Al Sharbatly mosque, in City View, 6th October City.
He was hospitalized after being infected with the deadly virus and was transferred to the ICU after his condition deteriorated in recent days.
This prompted Maha, the daughter of Al Sagheer, to share details about his life, in addition to asking her fans and her father's loved ones to pray for his recovery.
Many celebrities took to social media to mourn his death following his departure including, Lekaa Elkhamissi and Samira Said.
He was one of the most famous hairdressers in the Arab world, who has dealt with many prominent celebrities in Egypt and the Arab world.
In 1960, Al Sagheer began his work in the hair and beauty industry working alongside some of the biggest names, before traveling to France in 1971, to acquire the true skills of the trade under the hands of his mentor the distinguished Alexander de Paris.
He returned to Cairo after two years and established himself as one of the first ‘Haute Coiffeurs’ in the region.
In 1980, Al Sagheer opened his first establishment in Sheraton Heliopolis, challenging the traditional perception of hair salons found in Egypt at that time.
