On Monday, Gwen Stefani expressed her hopes that her parents will be able to make it to her wedding to fiancé and fellow singer Blake Shelton.
In an interview with Ryan Seacrest, she added that her parents wouldn’t come to Thanksgiving because they were so scared, so really would rather it not be a coronavirus situation.
“Like I would rather not have the masks and that kind of thing. And even when you cut it down to just family, it’s still too many people for coronavirus so we’re sort of like, just going to see what happens in the next few months,” Stefani added.
This will be the second marriage for Stefani, who was previously married to Bush singer Gavin Rossdale, with whom she shares three sons, and the third marriage for Shelton, who porced first wife Kaynette Gern in 2006 and was formerly married to country singer Miranda Lambert, whom he porced in 2015.
She also released Monday her latest single, “Let Me Reintroduce Myself,” which is her first new, non-Christmas song in four years.
Stefani, who also serves as a coach on “The Voice,” stated that she had been partially inspired by recording music with Shelton earlier this year and partially motivated by fellow coach Kelly Clarkson texting her about songs she’d written.
She co-wrote and recorded “Let Me Reintroduce Myself” in quarantine with Ross Golan and Luke Niccoli.
“Let Me Reintroduce Myself” finds Stefani reconnecting with Jamaican music, which marks her first non-Christmas solo music since her third solo album, “This Is What the Truth Feels Like”, which arrived in March 2016.
Earlier this year, Stefani sang on a pair of duets with Shelton “Happy Anywhere”, and “Nobody But You”, and appeared on the remix of Dua Lipa’s “Physical.”
