UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres warned on Tuesday of the consequences of implementing a law that bans the work of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) in Israel.
He pointed out that this "could have devastating consequences for Palestinian refugees in the occupied Palestinian territories, and is unacceptable."
Guterres said in a statement on his official account on the "X" platform - "There is no alternative to UNRWA," and implementing these laws would be harmful to resolving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and peace and security in the region as a whole," stressing that "UNRWA is indispensable."
Yesterday, the Knesset (Israeli parliament) "banned" the activities of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) in Israel.
