Several Gulf countries reported heightened security measures and active air defense operations on Tuesday following what officials described as escalating Iranian missile and drone threats across the region.
The UAE Ministry of Defense said its forces had successfully intercepted and countered incoming missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles, warning of continued vigilance amid rising regional tensions. The statement, carried by Al Qahera News, did not specify the number of threats neutralized or whether any damage had occurred.
In Qatar, the Ministry of Interior announced that the country’s security threat level had been raised, signaling concerns over potential spillover from the escalating confrontation. Authorities urged citizens and residents to remain alert and follow official guidance.
Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia reported intercepting and destroying 12 drones over the past several hours in its Eastern Province, a region that has frequently been targeted in previous cross-border attacks. The Saudi Ministry of Defense described the operation as part of ongoing efforts to safeguard critical infrastructure and civilian areas.
The developments come amid intensifying hostilities involving Iran and regional actors, raising fears of a broader escalation that could impact stability across the Gulf.
No casualties have been immediately reported, and officials across the region emphasized that defense systems remain on high alert to respond to any further threats.
