GUC Offers 25 Scholarships for Min. of Youth to Travel to Germany

Dr. Ashraf Mansour, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the German University in Cairo, announced the signing of a cooperation protocol with the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

“We talked with Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Youth and Sports, we will grant 25 scholarships to the ministry for innovators, to travel to Germany and the grant will be comprehensive”, He announced.

The announcement came during his speech at the graduation ceremony of 2051 male and female undergraduate GUC students for the academic year 2018-2019; it lasted for three days in the presence of Dr. Sobhi, Dr. Matthias Patzold, Secretary-General of the State Commission for Science in Niedersachsen and a committee of high-level German delegation of 48 government officials and academics in addition to a number of public figures and media personnel.

During the ceremony, Dr. Mansour honored Professor Hussein Adel Fahmy business administration and information systems manager in Austria and one of the graduates of the German University in Cairo.

Fahmy assured that GUC was always a vital part of his life and lead him to earn his scholarship to Austria; in addition, the university played a huge role in broadening his horizons.

Mansour also announced that 18,000 students had graduated from the prestigious university over the years describing them as the result of 25 years of strategic planning which lead to a great generation able to lead Egypt and raise its name up high.

The Chairman further stated, "My firm belief is that economic growth and job creation depend mainly on scientific research, higher and technical education, and vocational training."

"Economic and educational cooperation between the two countries creates enough jobs and a new generation of qualified cadres to maintain stability and economic and security integration between both countries has been my main driver and motivation for the past 27 years," he said.

He added that the German education system at GUC depends on the Hombeld ethics, which is the educational unit and scientific research in the phase before the bachelor’s degree that differentiates the German teaching system from the rest of the systems around the world.

The ending result is a graduate able to work at high efficiency rates as a result of the skills he gained over the years of studying at the university, as he is able to prove himself from the first day of work. This is well know about the graduates of the German teaching system whether those working at multinational companies or local ones.
