GUC Honors 'Thanaweya Amma' Top Students

The German University in Cairo (GUC) held an annual celebration of honor for the 16th year in a row for the Thanaweya Amma top students around Egypt.

The total number of the Thanaweya Amma top students is 34 (10 students of the math section, 14 of science section and 10 of the literary section). They meet the full scholarship criteria during their studies at GUC faculties and until they get a bachelor's degree.

The scholarship includes the disciplines of the engineering branches (Materials Science and Engineering- Civil Engineering Program - Information Technologies and the Architecture-Engineering - Digital Media Engineering - Pharmacy and Biotechnology - Technology management - applied sciences and arts - Law and Legal Studies).

 

The participants will be honored after meeting the admission conditions in terms of passing the English test, IQ test and the capabilities test for colleges that require it.

Dr. Ashraf Mansour, the university Board of Trustees Chairman and Dr. Yasser Hegazy, President of the university will honor them and hand them over the scholarship documents.

The honoring celebration will be attended by GUC`s vice-chancellors, deans, teaching staff and the students` parents.

The university has started to provide this scholarship since it announced the opening of enrollment in 2003, believing in the importance of achieving access to education for all Egyptian outstanding student in full impartiality.

The scholarship granted to the Thanaweya Amma top students in Cairo and Giza governorates will include the tuition fees for the duration of the study (4-5 years) and the transportation.

In addition to the tuition fees for the duration of the study and the transportation, the scholarship granted to the  top students who live outside Cairo and Giza will also include the accommodation costs and they will be granted monthly expenses for subsistence.
