German University in Cairo bid farewell to German ambassador to Egypt Julius Georg Luy; 53 Asian, Arab and European ambassadors attended the event.
Chairman of the Board of Trustees of GUC Ashraf Mansour praised Luy for his support and participation in many of the university's activities.

He has been an ambassador to Egypt since 2015.
Moreover, Mansour handed him a souvenir "gate of hope" as a significant icon of education's importance.
On the other hand, Luy expressed his country's pride of the GUC, he added that being a member of the university's board of trustees slowed him to delve deeper into understanding the importance of education as it connects different countries together.

He thanked Mansour and each sector that supported the project.
Furthermore, he stated during his last press conference that he was pleased to serve in Egypt as he also wished he could have stayed longer.
Luy said that he does not have any intention to start any diplomatic practices in any country.
