The British newspaper The Guardian has highlighted the latest developments in the war in Ukraine, which has seen an escalation in recent days with retaliatory strikes between Russia and Ukraine, at a time when US President Donald Trump sought to revive peace efforts.
The Guardian reported that Trump held a 90-minute phone call yesterday, Saturday, with Russian President Vladimir Putin, during which the US President offered assistance in finding a resolution to the war in Ukraine, according to a Kremlin aide.
The aide, Yuri Ushakov, stated that Trump made the offer during a call with Putin on Saturday, ahead of Trump's participation next week in the NATO summit in Turkey. Ushakov explained that the US President reaffirmed his readiness to work toward swiftly ending the fighting and finding solutions to overcome the crisis.
Ushakov described the conversation as "highly businesslike and constructive," stating that Russia is seeking a political and diplomatic solution to the conflict, taking into account Russia's fundamental approach.
