British Health Secretary Wes Streeting accused resident doctors of "undermining" their pay rises and training opportunities by striking again, as tens of thousands of doctors began a six-day walkout in England, according to The Guardian.
The Health Secretary said there was legitimacy to the concerns about jobs and pay, but the British Medical Association (BMA) had squandered any chance of a breakthrough when it rejected what it called a serious offer from the government to improve doctors' conditions.
The longest resident doctors' strike in England to date began at 7 a.m. on Tuesday after talks to end the long-running dispute broke down. This strike, the fourth in a row, is the fifteenth since March 2023 in their campaign to regain their full pay.
