On Friday, the Rockstar Games team shocked the fans by announcing the postponing of Grand Theft Auto (GTA) 6.
The new date is set to be May 26, 2026.
"We are very sorry that this is later than you expected," Rockstar Games said.
"With every game we have released, the goal has always been to try and exceed your expectations, and Grand Theft Auto VI is no exception," the team added. "We hope you understand that we need this extra time to deliver at the level of quality you expect and deserve."
GTA has sold millions of copies worldwide. But fans have been waiting for more than a decade for a new edition.
The most recent version game, GTA 5, was released in 2013 and sold over 200 million copies.
