In response to President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s call during the Egyptian family’s iftar ceremony on April 26, 2022, to hold a comprehensive political dialogue on the priorities of national action during the current stage, together with his assignment to the National Youth Congress to manage this dialogue, and to submit its results to his excellency in person; a group of young people and actors from different political and ideological views and affiliations gathered to show support to his excellency’s call, and to contribute to its activation on the ground through the formation of the "National Dialogue Group".

The group seeks to act as a link between the political and youth elites of all national parties, without exclusion or discrimination, and between these elites and the street with its various members, bodies and organizations, with the aim of supporting the efforts of the political leadership in maintaining the stability and development of the state at all levels, and strengthening cohesion among all the components of the state and society, with focus on spreading the necessary awareness among citizens of the challenges the state is going through and possible ways of confrontation.

As the National Dialogue Group proceeds from the invitation of the president, it considers that dialogue is a continuous and sustainable process in light of the call to build the new republic, and the rapid changes in the world, and that this dialogue comes as the culmination of a group of positive steps that Egypt has witnessed during the recent period at different levels including the launching of the national human rights strategy, releasing a large number of detainees or those against whom final judgments have been issued in cases related to freedom of opinion and expression, or facing the effects of the global economic crisis.

The Group affirms its deep belief that the alignment of political reform and economic development in a framework of; respect of citizenship principles and human rights, the promotion of good governance, anti-Corruption and the completion of cultural and societal reform efforts, are all the real basis for reaching the desired national consensus that they hope for the benefit of their beloved country.
