Today, a hand grenade exploded, in the Agaki Qaliti area in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa, killing a child and wounding another.
Addis Ababa Police Commission said that "The 5- year-old child, Tsegay Taklamaryam, was killed by the explosion, while another 8-year-old child was injured."
The police added that "The two children found the bomb while they were playing near Derarto Tollo Preparatory School in Agaliti."
The police stated that "The child, who was wounded in the explosion, was taken to hospital, without details of his condition," noting that "More details will be published later."
This is the third time for grenade explosions to take place in squares and other places during this month.
On December 20, the Police Commission of Addis Ababa announced that 3 were killed and 5 wounded in a grenade explosion in the vicinity of a mosque in the Ethiopian capital.
The commission said that a grenade explosion occurred behind a mosque in the Lideta area in the center of the capital, killing 3 "Homeless" people, and wounding 5 others. It was in a yard behind the mosque, where it was placed by unknown persons.
The Ethiopian police did not blame any party, but it had previously warned last month of the occurrence of suicide operations planed by Tigray Liberation Front in the capital and other cities.
Also, at the beginning of this month, a hand grenade exploded near Addis Ababa International Airport, while another was dismantled in the center of the capital before it exploded.
