Greek Prime Minister (PM) Kyriakos Mitsotakis announced his country's participation in the Peace Summit to be held tomorrow, Monday, in Sharm El-Sheikh city.

Mitsotakis stated in remarks reported by the Greek newspaper (Kathimerini): "Tomorrow, I will be in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, for the signing of the agreement [on Gaza]. Greece is one of the European countries that will attend, alongside Cyprus."

Greek PM described the agreement as historic and one that creates a new opportunity for peace in the Middle East, praising the role of US President Donald Trump in this initiative.

Mitsotakis continued, "For the first time, realistic prospects for peace have emerged in the region as a whole," adding that Greece is in continuous dialogue with all its partners and allies in the region and is ready to contribute effectively to making progress on the Gaza agreement "so that it does not remain just words."

Egypt is hosting an international summit in Sharm El-Sheikh city tomorrow to finalize an agreement aimed at ending the war in Gaza.

More than 20 heads of state, including Donald Trump, are scheduled to attend the summit.
