Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis announced Wednesday that they agreed with Libya to immediately resume maritime border demarcation talks between them.

On Tuesday, Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias confirmed that he came to Benghazi, to follow up on the results of his country's prime minister's visit to the capital, Tripoli, last week. He pointed out that it represents Athens' full support for the Government of National Unity (GNU) and the elections process scheduled for next December.

According to a statement by the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dendias clarified that in this context, he met with Parliament Speaker Ageela Saleh and Benghazi Mayor Saqr Boujwari.

Dendias indicated that Greece has always argued that the solution to the Libya problem must come with the immediate withdrawal of all foreign military forces and foreign mercenaries from Libya.

"This must happen immediately, and the Libyan people must be responsible for the country's future," he added. Dendias thanked GNU Deputy Prime Minister Hussein Attia Al-Qatrani for his statement regarding the illegal memorandum signed between the administration of the outgoing Government of National Accord (GNU) and Turkey concerning maritime zones.
