On Saturday, the Greek government affirmed that the pressure by European Union (EU) and the United States (US) on Turkey recently, especially the imposition of sanctions, revisits Ankara's provocations and violations.

Speaking to Greek Sky, the government spokesman said: "I hope that Turkey will show a kind of coordination and continuity in reducing the escalation, in order to resume exploratory discussions between the two countries, and to move towards calm, and not tension."

"The goal is to resolve the only dispute between us and the neighboring country," he added.

It is worth mentioning that, during their last meeting in Brussels, EU leaders decided to draw up a list of Turkish targets for sanctions over Ankara’s “unilateral actions and provocations” in the eastern Mediterranean, believed to be rich in energy resources.
