Greek Prime Minister (PM) Kyriakos Mitsotakis announced that Greek and Turkish officials are likely to resume talks in late February or early March, in an effort to resolve the maritime disputes between the two neighboring countries.
In exclusive statements to "Reuters", Mitsotakis said, “I expect within the next month, at some point end of February, beginning of March. It’s a good step in the right direction."
The Greek PM stressed the need for Turkey to be consistent in its behavior, adding: "This cannot just be a decoy to avoid the discussion at the EU council in March."
It is worth mentioning that, two NATO allies held various rounds of negotiations between 2002-2016 to lay the foundations for full negotiations over the delimitation of maritime zones.
