Greek Prime Minister (PM) Kyriakos Mitsotakis confirmed on Wednesday that Greece will not participate in any operations near the current theater of operations in the Middle East, expressing skepticism regarding any significant European desire for such a mission at this time.
Speaking to the media, Mitsotakis stated that Greece would not act alone in the absence of a European-backed initiative, clarifying that the likelihood of undertaking such a mission is "extremely slim."
For its part, the Greek newspaper Kathimerini noted that the Prime Minister's current focus on Europe's stance reflects an acknowledgement that circumstances could change rapidly, which might eventually necessitate a reassessment of the situation.
