Greece is relocating its embassy from Tehran to Baku, Azerbaijan, the Greek Foreign Ministry announced.
The ministry said the decision was prompted by what officials described as "an increasingly dangerous situation in Tehran which prevents the diplomatic mission from operating safely."
The country says it has not received any evacuation requests from Greek citizens in Iran, where a small number of nationals live.
About 2,000 Greek citizens have so far been safely evacuated from the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, and Israel.
