Greece Declares 3-Day National Mourning for Train Collision Accident Vicitms

On Wednesday, Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis declared a three-day national mourning for the victims of the tragic train collision accident.

The recently declared decision will come into effect today, and until March 3. In addition, flags will be lowered at half-mast in all public buildings, alongside suspending all public celebrations.

Meanwhile, Mitsotakis set communication with the coordination center and the concerned officials and ministers since the earliest minutes of the tragic accident. 

According to Proto Thema, Mitsotakis will visit the scene of the accident, in addition, the Greek President Katerina Sakellaropoulou will also visit the scene.

At least 32 people died and more than 85 persons were injured in the collision of two trains near the city of Larissa on Tuesday night.

Rescuing teams worked all night to find survivors and assist injured.
