Greece sends millions of euros to Ukraine, in addition to weapons, by participating in European credit support to Kyiv.

"Pronews" website stated that Greece began providing financial support to Ukraine with millions of loans, following Kyriakos Mitsotakis, the Greek Prime Minister.

The site added that Theodoros Skylakakis, the Greek First Deputy Minister of Finance, issued a decision that confirmed at the outset the EU’s decision to provide emergency economic financial assistance to Ukraine from the Union in the form of loans in the amount of 1.5 billion euros, respectively.

A loan of €1 billion has already been provided to Ukraine on August 1-2, 2022, and loans of €5 billion are in the process of being applied for. The loan term is 25 years.

Within the framework of these €6 billion in loans, EU member states are providing joint guarantees of €3.66 billion (61% of €6 billion) to strengthen the European Fund intended to cover possible European financial aid commitments to other states.

Pronews stated that out of the total guaranteed amount of 3.66 billion euros, the Greek guarantees amount to 45 million euros and 269 thousand euros (1.2369% of 3.66 billion euros).
