Grand Imam Ahmed Al-Tayeb ..15 Years of Leadership at Al-Azhar

Egypt's Dar Al-Ifta extends its deepest appreciation and highest regard to Grand Imam  Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, on the occasion of his 15th anniversary as Sheikh of Al-Azhar. 

Throughout his tenure, he has been a steadfast advocate of Islamic moderation, a voice of wisdom and balance, and a tireless defender of Islam and its noble values.

 Under his leadership, Al-Azhar has undergone a comprehensive renaissance, modernizing its curricula to meet contemporary challenges while preserving authentic Islamic principles. 

He has also strengthened Al-Azhar’s global role in countering extremism and launched advanced training programs for imams and preachers, ensuring that the institution remains a beacon of knowledge and guidance.

Beyond Egypt, Grand Imam Al-Tayeb has emerged as a global ambassador of peace and interfaith dialogue. His efforts include co-signing the Document on Human Fraternity with Pope Francis, combating Islamophobia, and championing just causes, particularly the Palestinian struggle. 

He has also spearheaded humanitarian initiatives to support those in need, reinforcing Al-Azhar’s role as a pillar of compassion and justice. On this distinguished occasion, Dar Al-Ifta prays for his continued health and success, asking Allah to bless his efforts and to preserve Al-Azhar as a guiding light for the world.
