The economic and social development plan for the fiscal year 2022/2023, presented by the Minister of Planning and Economic Development, Dr. Hala Al-Saeed, and approved by Parliament in its two chambers ( House of Representatives and Senate), aims to create about 900,000 new jobs.
The plan also aims to increase the number of workers to about 29.3 million people and the number of unemployed, settling at 2.3 million. 7.3% at the age of work.
The minister revealed that the plan looks forward to raising the female share in the labor market from 16% to about 25% during the current fiscal year 2022/2023 of the total number of workers in order to reduce the differences in unemployment rates.
The economic and social development plan indicates reducing the unemployment rate among holders of university degrees to the rate of the unemployed by eight percentage points, to become 36%, in addition to efforts to narrow the gap between urban unemployment rates compared to rural ones, so that it does not exceed five percentage points.
