Government Denies Reports of Mutated Coronavirus Strains Found in Egypt

On Monday, the government denied reports that new mutated strains of coronavirus have been detected in Egypt.

In a statement, the Egyptian Ministry of Health confirmed that there is no truth about the spread of the black fungus strain in Egypt among Coronavirus-infected patients.

On his part, Dr. Mohamed Abdel Fattah, head of the Central Administration for Preventive Medicine Affairs at the Ministry of Health and Population, said that they are ready to deal with any infectious disease or a new strain of Coronavirus.

He affirmed that Egypt has a strong surveillance system for epidemics, which is specialized in tracking all epidemic diseases, providing quick solutions to confront the epidemic, and getting acquainted with new medicines globally.
