Google has expanded its wildfire warning service on Google Maps to include several European countries, targeting key tourist destinations like Italy, Greece, and Croatia.
This service, which was previously available in countries such as the United States, Brazil, and Australia, now uses artificial intelligence to analyze data from various sources to identify areas in Europe prone to wildfires.
These high-risk areas are highlighted on Google Maps and Google Search, with users receiving alerts based on their location.
Along with these warnings, users receive guidance on how to protect themselves if they are in an affected area, and dangerous zones on their planned routes are marked.
The information is not limited to local users; tourists also receive these alerts in their preferred language, ensuring they can easily understand the warnings regardless of language barriers.
Google’s wildfire warnings are now available in the United States, Canada, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, and Australia.
The service has expanded to include Andorra, Bosnia and Herzegovina, France, Greece, Italy, Croatia, Portugal, Spain, Turkey, and several other European countries.
Android users can receive these warnings automatically if location sharing is enabled in their settings, while iOS users need to download the Google Search app to access these alerts.
