Google announced Today, the launching and registration of the 1st version of the "Google Business Startup Accelerator program" in the Middle East and North Africa region. The program will provide a three-month business acceleration incubator targeting technology startups in the initial financing and investment stages in the region.
The program will include the provision of support services and training to the founders of the emerging companies on various technical and professional challenges, as well as the opportunity to participate in workshops on techniques of machine learning and product design and user experience design and leadership skills.
According to the company, the program is scheduled to start in January 2021 within a virtual platform and will include 10 to 15 startups from the MENA region.
Earlier, Google released on October, its programe to support Egypt’s digital transformation through technological training programmes. According to Hisham Al-Nazer the Google Egypt Director, Google is offering $ 2 mn loans and $10 mn to help Egyptian small business.
Al-Nazer said that the company expects that 1 mn people will benefit from the loans, and training initiatives launched by Google. This comes in cooperation with Kiva International, to provide loans to small Egyptian companies, so that they can obtain financing of $200-$5,000 that can be repaid over two years.
