On Wednesday, Google unveiled "Gemini," an artificial intelligence generative model developed through its subsidiary, "DeepMind."

Reports suggest that Gemini is set to become a prominent competitor to "ChatGPT," introduced by OpenAI last year.

According to Google, Gemini represents a new type of artificial intelligence model capable of working with text, images, and video.

It's deemed as one of the most significant algorithms in Google's history, as reported by Wired.

The initial release of Gemini will be in English and will be available to developers via Google Cloud in over 170 countries starting December 13th.

It will also be integrated into Google products, including content generation and advertising.

Google plans to launch a more advanced version of Gemini in 2024 after completing development and security testing.

This next-level Gemini will be capable of working with more flexible models, from data centers to mobile devices, and will be available in three variants:

Gemini Ultra: Designed for large and complex workloads.

Gemini Pro: Suited for a wide range of tasks.

Gemini Nano: Tailored for tasks on individual devices.

Google has upgraded its search engine with a robot called "Bard," similar to OpenAI's "ChatGPT."

This enhancement enables the company to think and plan more advanced actions. Additionally, it will be integrated into a new version of "Alpha Code," used in programming.

Despite the major tech companies' interest in artificial intelligence, concerns about the rapid advancement of this revolutionary technology have raised various apprehensions, leading to increased regulation.

As Gemini enters the AI landscape, it remains to be seen how it will impact various industries and whether it will uphold the promises and challenges associated with AI's rapid evolution.
