Samoa, and Tonga islands in the Pacific Ocean are the first regions to welcome the new year, followed by New Zealand to be the first major nation to welcome the new year.
On the other hand, American Samoa, Baker Island, and Howland Island are among the last places to bid farewell to the outgoing year.
