Liverpool current defender Joe Gomez revealed reasons behind refusing a move for the last year UEFA Champions League title holders Real Madrid.
He believed it was a simple decision, with little regard paid to rumors that he may travel to Spain.
He faces stiff competition for a starting spot at Anfield from Virgil van Dijk, Joel Matip, and Ibrahima Konate, but the England international has never really considered leaving Merseyside for Madrid or the West Midlands.

"I can't deny hearing about these speculations," Gomez told the Liverpool Echo, "but until things are solid with my representatives, I take it everything with a pinch of salt."
"Any interest is flattering, but I don't view it as much of a nuisance since, until I make my decision, the external noise is distracting," he concluded according the English website.
