The Egyptian Gold and Precious Metals Division of the Federation of Industries negotiated with members of the the World Jewellery Confederation (CIBJO) to obtain membership in the council.
This came on the sidelines of the participation of a delegation from the division in the activities of the Vicenzaoro exhibition in Italy.
Ehab Wassef, Head of the Gold Division said that Egypt's membership would enhance the local gold industry, given the role played by the confederation in resolving obstacles facing its members to increase their manufacturing capabilities, providing initiatives, funds and training courses that help them develop theindustry and participate in international exhibitions.
The head of the gold division added that joining the CIBJO requires strengthening the Egyptian presence of the gold and jewelry industry globally.
Wassef pointed out that it is planned to enhance the participation of Egyptian companies in international gold and jewelry exhibitions, including the Istanbul International Jewelry Fair scheduled in March.
He explained that the division discussed with the organizers of the Vicenzaoro exhibition allocating a pavilion for Egyptian companies for its upcomming 2024 session.
He added that the Division's delegation was briefed on the latest technology in the manufacture of gold and jewelry globally; to transfer it to Egyptian factories, which would help enhance its designs that suit international tastes, with its tendency to export gold artifacts instead of raw gold.
Wassef concluded that the division showed reviewed with international investors the incentives offered by the government for local investors.
Finally, a collection of the latest designs of gold jewelry produced in Egyptian factories was also displayed.
