Freemans & Hindman Auctions is offering approximately 175 pieces of jewelry, including pieces from renowned designers such as Cartier, Bulgari, and Oscar Heyman. The auction is scheduled to take place on March 20 in Chicago, USA.

An 11.97-carat diamond ring is expected to go under the hammer, with an estimated price tag of $200,000. The ring features a pear-shaped brilliant-cut center diamond, I color, SI2 clarity, and two trillion-cut side stones totaling approximately 2.80 carats.

The auction includes a wreath-shaped necklace, delicate flower chains, and two pendants set with European-cut and old-mine diamonds totaling approximately 12.25 carats, accented with rose-cut diamonds and white enamel around the bezel. Mounted in platinum, the total weight of the piece is 25.90 carats. It is accompanied by a Cartier box and an IAJA expert report indicating that the necklace originated in Cartier, Paris, circa 1905.

The necklace is from the collection of Sarah Helen Frilinghuysen Davis Macauley. Cartier's "Blac de Cou" painting embodies the Belle Époque design. Originally, Cartier mounted the painting on a black velvet ribbon and wore it as a choker. What distinguishes this piece, and expresses Cartier's beginnings, is the use of white enamel along the edge. The necklace dates back to 1905.

The Frilinghuysen family moved among the elite circles of society, including the Vanderbilts, the Astors, and even Edith Wharton. In this case, Sarah Helen Frilinghuysen Davis Macauley is the daughter of Frederick T. Frelinghuysen, U.S. Senator and Secretary of State, and Mathilde Elizabeth Frelinghuysen.

The auction also includes an Alito brothers' ring featuring a modified brilliant-cut diamond weighing 9.01 carats, G color, VS2 clarity, and half-moon-cut diamonds weighing approximately 1.71 and 1.73 carats. It is estimated at $150,000.

The auction also includes a necklace featuring a stepped line of round brilliant-cut diamonds weighing approximately 63.19 carats, including an 8.05-carat fancy yellow-brown diamond, a 3.53-carat fancy light yellow diamond, and a 3.39-carat fancy yellow-brown diamond. The piece, which also contains approximately 4.30 carats of white diamonds, is expected to fetch up to $120,000.

Among the items on display is a ring featuring an 8.88-carat, radiant-cut, fancy vivid yellow diamond, VVS1 clarity, nestled between two bullet-cut diamonds, with a top estimate of $120,000.

This Oscar Heyman ring features a 5.42-carat, F-color, VS-clarity, fancy-cut diamond. The piece also contains approximately two carats of baguette-cut diamonds and one carat of round diamonds, with a top estimate of $120,000.
