The head of the World Trade Organization has warned that the global trading system is experiencing its most severe disruptions in eight decades, raising concerns about the stability of international commerce.
In a statement, the WTO chief said ongoing geopolitical tensions and economic fragmentation are placing unprecedented strain on global supply chains and trade flows.
The warning comes amid escalating conflicts and rising protectionist measures by major economies, which analysts say could further weaken multilateral trade frameworks.
The WTO has repeatedly called for cooperation and dialogue to prevent further deterioration, stressing that prolonged instability could have long-term consequences for global growth, particularly in developing economies.
